Underground meets electro-pop with nu-jazz influences, The Avener is blurring the genre boundaries with a distinct energy. His smoothness screams French flair with a twist and his latest album The Wanderings Of The Avener follows suit showing a clear direction for the 28-year old from Nice.
There is a richness in his sound that shows his determination to achieve the perfect mix of acoustic and electro. The Avener’s first single off his new album Fade Out Lines reached number 1 in Germany and has set the tone for an emotionally charged album to follow. A mixture of his own tracks with a range of reworks from the likes of Mazzy Star, Sixto Rodriguez and John Lee Hooker creating an abundance of layers and deep-house styling.
