Off the back of his surprise What a Time to be Alive mixtape with Future, Drake graces the cover of the 100th anniversary issue of The FADER with his first full-length interview since 2014. Shot by Mark Peckmezian and JJ, this is Drake’s second time appearing on the cover of the legendary rap publication; the Canadian megastar sheds light on everything from a new-found relationship with fans, his brotherhood with fellow musician Skepta, and the ghostwriting allegations and reference recordings that caused such a stir this summer. Regarding his beef with Meek Mill, meanwhile, Drake related the following:
“This is a discussion about music, and no one’s putting forth any music?… Nobody told you that this was a bad idea, to engage in this and not have something?…It was weighing heavy on me. I didn’t get it. I didn’t get how there was no strategy on the opposite end. I just didn’t understand. I didn’t understand it because that’s just not how we operate.”
