This month, East London’s The Goodhood Store are launching TSHIRTNOW/TSHIRTTHEN as part of London Design Week. The exhibition showcases some of the best graphic T-shirt designers from around the globe, starting from the mid ’80s right up until today. From London to Los Angeles, Goodhood portrays the evolution of the graphic tee through designers that have pushed the medium and made it into an art form, giving a voice to the graphic T-shirt movement through their prints and references.
TSHIRTNOW looks at artists and designers currently at the top of their game including Doomsday, Misha Hollenbach andPRMTVO, while TSHIRTTHEN features rare and influential pieces from the mid ’80s up to 1999, which have become icons of a generation. From high-end to low-end, throwaways and collectibles, the exhibition acknowledges what the graphic T-shirt has meant to so many.
The exhibition will run as part of London Design Week from September 17-27.
