When you think about libraries you automatically think of a place where silence fills the room, while you’re scouring for your favorite novel. Vector Architects have designed a library that encompasses this plus more, combining peace and tranquility, strategically located on the coast of China’s Bohai Bay.
Situated three hours outside of Beijing, the concrete structure features a large open reading area, peaceful meditation space, multifunctional activity room and bar. Resting on the water’s edge the space has been designed to connect with the ocean, natural light and wind, playing on these elements to bring the space to life for a modern take on a conventional library.
Hungry? Then you might want to grab yourself a grey burger from McDonald’s in China.
