In true Dame Vivienne Westwood style, fashion’s favorite activist showcased her politically-charged FW16 collection at Milan Fashion Week on Sunday. The Vivienne Westwood punk-ethos rang true once again, as “Be Specific” saw models decked out in her signature bold tartans and pin stripes, complete with wedges and heeled brogues.
Continuing on the path to saving the earth, Westwood’s collection draws on the “Politicians Are Criminals” show from last year with a twist of anarchy, as she touched on how politicians are ruining the planet. Though gender neutrality is nothing new to the fashion scene, Westwood’s collection saw an army of androgyny adorned in everything from clean tailoring to hooded coats and asymmetrical gowns.
Along with the label’s iconic patterns, bright pink and orange hues infused the collection with navy blues and khaki thrown into the mix, making for a powerful clash of color.
After you peep some of the looks from the show above, check out Dame Vivienne Westwood talking on what sparked the collection below.
